In Week 5 of our class, our main focus will be on continuing the narrative of developments of traditions centered around the virtues, carrying this from ancient times into the middle ages. We will also look at a criticism made by A.A. Long of MacIntyre's interpretation of Stoicism, which argues that it could be a rival but complementary tradition of moral inquiry to Aristotelianism and Thomism
