Overview Of Week 1: What We Will Be Reading, Discussing, and Learning

In Week 1 of our class, our main focus will be on understanding the contemporary situation for our moral life, vocabulary, conflicts, and inquiry as MacIntyre outlines it early on in After Virtue. We will be referencing the following

  • After Virtue, chapter 1: A Disquieting Suggestion
  • After Virtue, chapter 2: The Nature Of Moral Disagreement Today
  • After Virtue, chapter 3: Emotivism: Social Content and Social Context
