Since this class is centered around reading our way through Alasdair MacIntyre's After Virtue, you can rightly expect that it will be the main text for our course. After Virtue has gone through several different editions since it was first published in 1981, with the 3rd edition published in 2007as the latest version.

The book has not been modified substantially in most of the chapters from the earlier to the final edition, so if you have an earlier edition, you can still effectively use it for nearly all of the class sessions.
