In Week 4 of our class, we will now be shifting backwards in time to the pre-modern eras, looking at different conceptions of moral life which are centered by conceptions of the virtues, that is good traits of character that ought to be cultivated and guide ethical decision-making. We will also be looking at MacIntyre's first main formulation of an option within late modernity, represented by going down the path sketched out by Nietzsche, or looking backwards to an Aristotelian virtue-centered tradition
