Discussion Forum: Thinking About Your Goals In Studying (for before session)
This is a discussion forum for you to engage in some reflection and conversation before we hold our workshop session. You should feel free to engage constructively with other participants posts in the forum as well as making your own. It is also all right to post in this forum after the workshop session is over.
Here is the discussion prompt for this forum:
People come to the study of philosophy with some main overarching goals they would like to make some progress towards. These can change in the course of one's study, but it can be useful to determine and articulate for oneself what they are as one gets started and continues on.
So what would you say, at this point in time, is your goal, or your goals? If you have more than one, does one of them have greater priority over the others? Why is what you're aiming at in studying philosophy particularly important or valuable for you?
