Overview Of Part 2 Of The Seminar

In this second of three sessions in our workshop, we will be focusing upon the topics set out below.

I will be presenting some key ideas, issues, perspectives and useful bits of advice during the session. These include:

  • Study as an iterative and cumulative process
  • Starting/starting over points for studying philosophy
  • Making and assessing progress
  • Notetaking and annotation as practices
  • Style, structure, and genre of philosophical works
  • Finding, assessing, and using secondary sources
  • Concerns about translations
  • Distinguishing an author's position from others

We will have plenty of time for Q&A and discussion during this session. You should feel free to ask questions at any point during the seminar, and you can use your microphone or the chat to do so.
