Overview Of Part 2 Of The Seminar
In this second of three sessions in our workshop, we will be focusing upon the topics set out below.
I will be presenting some key ideas, issues, perspectives and useful bits of advice during the session. These include:
- Study as an iterative and cumulative process
- Starting/starting over points for studying philosophy
- Making and assessing progress
- Notetaking and annotation as practices
- Style, structure, and genre of philosophical works
- Finding, assessing, and using secondary sources
- Concerns about translations
- Distinguishing an author's position from others
We will have plenty of time for Q&A and discussion during this session. You should feel free to ask questions at any point during the seminar, and you can use your microphone or the chat to do so.
